THE "ACT" DISADVANTAGES
LEFT-HANDED TEST TAKERS.

The "ACT" is the second most widely taken college entrance exam in America.

It is a physical paper-and-pencil test that has a spatial format that disadvantages lefties.

The design flaw requires lefties to uncomfortably contort our arms and wrists to minimize visual obstructions, and to memorize or recopy math problems, charts, and graphs.

This disadvantage is specific to lefties, and it reduces the time we have available to complete the timed test.

This can lower our ACT scores, which makes us less likely to be accepted to schools,
and costs us opportunities to qualify for merit scholarships.

The ACT needs to add a left-handed or universally designed test to their roster of alternative test formats,
because disadvantaging lefties isn't right.
